turnaround problem projects

There are very few companies that are willing - and able - to take over a problem project and turn it around. It seems that most vendors want to start your project over from scratch, and throw away your investment to date. We can and will take over partially completed projects, as well as projects that were finished, but are defective. We have done turn-arounds on many late, overbudget, failing, impossible, abandoned, and orphaned projects. In most cases, you do NOT need to throw away your current investment.

We have the ability to delve in, even where documentation is sparse or absent, and decipher the workings of the previous programmer(s). This is an almost "forensic" ability to do detective work on source code and databases. Here are a few examples:

Accounting Project for Major LA Entertainment Firm
Problem: Statement calculation program ran for 5 days and did not reach conclusion.
Solution: In one week, we fixed it to run to completion in 42 minutes. The company asked us to rewrite the software, which we did over the period of a year, using one programmer. A similar project at the same company required 10 programmers for the same period of time.

Equipment-Repair Tracking Program for US Government
Problem: Ten months after starting and two months before the deadline, the previous contractor had not produced a single working screen or report.
Solution: We replaced them and completed the project in the two months remaining. We then flew to their location and installed it.

Sales-Tracking System for Financial Products Company
Problem: Previous programmer was unable to repair serious bugs causing loss of data.
Solution: We got the core system functions working within a few days. They then hired us to make further repairs and to complete the project.
